Connect a suspect device via USB port to quickly collect evidence and perform an advanced logical acquisition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Watch this 3-minute video to create a digital forensic backup using <a href=\"\/mobile-device-investigator\" rel=\" noopener\">Mobile Device Investigator<\/a><span><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span>.<\/p>\n<video width=\"100%\" controls>\n  <source src=\"https:\/\/4330725.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/4330725\/Create%20an%20iOS%20Digital%20Forensice%20Backup%20using%20MDI%20or%20DEI%20PRO.mp4\" type=\"video\/mp4\">\n<\/video>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 24px; font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"color: #038d9f;\">Advanced Logical Acquisition of an iOS Mobile Device<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Mobile Device Investigator provides logical acquisition capabilities so to begin, you must first know the passcode to unlock the device.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Place the device in airplane mode (If not already done)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Go to Settings to set the Auto-Lock to Never<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>Settings &gt;&gt; Display and Brightness &gt;&gt; Auto-Lock &gt;&gt; Never<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Attach and Backup the iOS device<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Select Add Phone <\/span><\/li>\n<li>Select iOS and then connect the phone to the computer when prompted<\/li>\n<li>When connecting the phone to the computer &#8211; if prompted &#8211; \u201cTrust This Computer?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The wizard on the right-hand side of the MDI interface will guide you through the process and alert you to items that have not been completed, such as device drivers not installed, or debugging not turned on. The wizard will also guide you with instructions on what to do if certain criteria are not met.<\/p>\n<p>Once the phone is selected you will see the Source, Destination, and Backup name. Remember the destination as you will need this to scan your backup later.
